Maori Pa

This is the Maori Pa my mum, brother and I made for our school gtsfamilycreate competition. We decided to make a Maori Pa because it was Maori language week and to represent our culture.  

We made our Pa using a flat surface cardboard as the base, home made play-dough for the water and land, tooth picks, branches and twigs, glue and twine to put the buildings and barrier together. Maoris built their Pas on high land, and built fences around their homes with sharp ends to keep their enemies out, or to make it harder for them to enter.  You can also see our tooth pick Wakas (canoes) on how Maori travelled on water. We made the Maori Tino Rangatiratanga flag by just using paper and black and red felts.

My Goals This Term Is...

For this term I want to showcase good behaviour against my classmates. I want to be a leader so I can guide people through learning. I think that I can put a huge impact in my class by using the values of my school. The last 5 years Iv'e been at Glen Taylor school. I experienced many great things, and want to show it out to the world.

At home I want to be the bigger person towards my brothers and I.

Make good choices and decisions. I want to do the right thing at the right time.

 I’m so hungry my stomach feels like                              it's going oblitarate. It feels like an earthquake inside my stomach.

“Dinners ready, '' said mum. Everything around me looks like something I could eat like meat.

In the kitchen my mum is making pork chop. It looks like something that is worth a lot of money. The best part smells like the gods recipe.

Finally! the time has come.  We say Karakia and it's time to dig into the wonderful and fine meal

Hmmm…  just like I remember the taste of the creamy thickness of the pork chop in my mouth.

 

Space Jam 2 My Amazing Holiday

On Tuesday my family and I watched Space Jam 2. It was quite amazing. There were extraordinary things beyond what I would've imagined. The little details really stand out. 

Firstly the computer room and a device were cartoon channels or any other channels were to be created. Inside the monitors there would be a man that has not been recognized in a very long time. And he tried to stop his popularity going down so he tried to make a contract with Lebron James. Saying he could be in a cartoon. But King James did like that idea.

Our adventure in Pak n save

 This Thursday my class and I went on a walk to pak n save. We all wanted the ability to read the ingredients on box's and food packages. So Mr. Sok printed out a costume work sheet. To write down rainbow colours which means different colour fruits and vegetables. We had a great time. 

My Wonderful Camping Trip

 On one foggy Friday from each school they selected year 6's camping trip we meet at Panmure District School. When I arrived at our meeting place I was so excited to experience camp at this early of time.

We did all sorts of things like the slip-n-slide, kayaking, bush-walk, rock-climbing and air-rifles. My favourite part was when we got free time because I would always play basketball with my new friends.                                              

My learning adventure with Harold and his friend Nicole

 

Today my class room and I went to Harold the giraffe along with his friend Nicole.

I as well as my fellow classmates discovered new things about our brain, and how to respond or react in little situations. We learnt how to control our emotions and what your brain thinks what your body does.  

If your a bully you need to stop and think for a moment and of putting your self in the people that are being bullied.

My FLIP completion certificate day

 Today Wednesday the 2nd of June we had some visitors come in from PwC which is a company near and in the city next the sky tower. They taught us about how to spend money and what is the deference's between what we want and what we need.

This term room 6 is happy because they get to have some fun with the little kids and tell them new things about what we have learned and pass it on to them. We also get to learn new things from them as well.,

We got to tell new body parts in Maori sometimes they would correct us instead of us correcting them.  

Radical Rugby

Yesterday 20th of may my class was playing ripper rugby. We all had fun playing around and warming up.

After a few stretches the coaches told us to split into to teams one red and one blue.

I was in blue team and coaches said "let's play a game" I was so pumped up....

Then I surprisingly scored 4 try's and got a interception by jumping really high and grabbing the ball.

My fabulous soccer tournament trip

 On Wednesday 19th of may some of year 5 and 6 syndicate went on a tournament  for soccer.

And I was in the top 10 boys year 5 and 6 I ended up scoring a goal as well as my friend Rangi.

Heroic adventure trip

 

On Wednesday 12th of May all of room 6 and 5 went on heroic adventure trip to the museum.

We all had fun and learned new things about our ancestors routine and what they did back then.

We discovered that the Maori houses are represented inside by people .

 Today on the 15th of April all of room 6 participated outside exploring.

Our visitors helped us learn how to be resource full and how to respect the community and the environment.

We all made creative sticks we even put patterns and leaves to decorate our sticks.

We also learned we should go out and have a stretch more.
